Why Our “Osceola County Florida Masonic Lodge” May Be Right For You!

First Thing’s First – Before going any further, it’s important to take a few moments to clarify who we are and what we do. There are a LOT of misconceptions about us and joining for the wrong reasons or having unrealistic expectations will benefit nobody.

You can be the first Freemason in your family. – There’s no such thing as a “Masonic Bloodline” or any nonsense like that. Any man that meets the criteria can petition to receive the degrees of Freemasonry.

We aren’t the bad guys. – There are some people who will argue over this until they are blue in the face and it never ceases to amaze me how men (and women) who have never been members of the fraternity seem to know more about it than it’s actual members. There is no ‘special’ degree that suddenly makes anyone an evil person either. We can’t even agree on when to host a pancake breakfast, let alone organize any kind of world domination.

Becoming a Freemason isn’t easy. – You’ll be expected to commit a certain amount of time to the fraternity on a regular basis. We aren’t always upfront about this, but the fact is that you’ll be expected to attend the meetings that you are allowed to go to unless you have other obligations due to higher priorities such as family, work, or religious events.

Plus you’ll also be expected to do quite a bit of memorization to advance through your initial degrees. The work that you’ll be expected to memorize is to learn it directly from a teacher or mentor. Finally, there are also typically fees associated with each degree and annual dues you’ll have to pay once you become a Master Mason.
